Does fish oil have mercury? Has this product been tested for mercury?

Fish flesh may contain mercury, but fish oil does not. This is because the type of mercury found in fish is not soluble in oil. Eating certain large and predatory fish like shark, king mackerel, marlin, swordfish can be high in mercury. Eating smaller fish like sardine and anchovies do not pose this risk at all. The Omega-3 used in this product (and virtually all fish oil supplements) are made from small, algae eating fish that do not contain measurable amounts of mercury.

You do not have to take our word for it. All OmegaVia brand products are tested for mercury by multiple third-party labs. You may look at the test results at IFOS Consumer Reports. The mercury levels are always below detection limits. All OmegaVia Chewies are rated 5-star for purity, potency, and freshness.
