How long do kids need to take this?

If your child eats wild seafood like salmon three times a week, they will likely not need Omega-3 supplements. If your child's diet is low in seafood, then you must give your child Omega-3 from supplements.

Omega-3s are strongly associated with proper brain development, behavior, and ability to learn. This is why it is critical for both kids and adults to get adequate amounts of Omegas in the diet.

Consider getting an Omega-3 Index test from OmegaQuant to determine your Omega levels in the blood. If the results show less than 8%, then we strongly suggest increasing seafood consumption and Omega-3 supplements until the deficiency is corrected and the results show higher than 8% in the Omega-3 Index. Most people are at 3-4% when they start.

If you quit eating seafood and taking Omegas, the OmegaQuant numbers will go back down to 3% after a couple of months.
